Who is the “real” Donald Trump and what does the President of the United States have to do with the health of Americans? The identity of the President has everything to do with health! You see, one’s view of the world determines his/her investment in the health of Americans. The health of Americans has always been political.
Whether it is abruptly terminating international assistance in foreign aid, ending severe weather warnings, trying to dismantle the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), decimating the National Park System, slashing existing grants at the National Institutes of Health on vaccine hesitancy, HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health, and COVID-19 because these topics do not align with your priorities, cutting new grant funding, telling public health specialists what words they can say or write, slashing scientific research at universities, or cutting employees and grant funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ending programs and grants that are considered WOKE, recommending health related tariffs, having fewer Americans with health insurance, or making radical changes to Medicaid and Social Security, who the President is matters.
