Internship

I am a doctoral student in public health. Doing the internship with Dr. Jordan and members of the 1795 Group was a wonderful opportunity. I worked with senior executives that were clients of the 1795 Group. The internship was a hands-on learning experience which emphasized ‘learning by doing.’ I was given all the necessary support for success. I learned survey design, data analysis, scientific writing, and made a presentation to a group. Also, I learned a lot from the intriguing group discussions on various public health issues by experts who are members of the 1795 Group.

I am a DRPH student from Texas. I applied and was accepted by the 1795 Group to do my public health practicum experience with them. The experience of working with Dr. Jordan and the 1795 Group has enriched by professional development. I gained practical skills in professional communication, scientific writing, and program evaluation.

I chose Dr. Jordan and the 1795 Group as my site for my senior level internship.

Working with them has given me a lot of exposure to real-life projects and working with real-life clients.

As part of my internship with Dr. Jordan and the 1795 Group, I reviewed 10 Grass Roots Health podcasts. This podcast improved my knowledge in many areas including the U.S. health care system, racism, social media, misinformation, disinformation, coping with loss, and many more! I like how the host had experts on to talk about every topic. I highly recommend this podcast to others!

As a senior, undergraduate in public health I did my internship with Dr. Jordan and the 1795 Group. I did things during the internship that are only talked about in my classes. I strongly recommend this internship to others.

I learned so much working with Dr. Jordan and the 1795 Group! I am a graduating senior and did my 300-hour senior internship course with them. I was able to gain experience in grant writing, survey design, scientific writing, and how to do an oral presentation to a group.

I loved working with the 1795 Group! I did my 100 hour practicum course with them and learned a lot.

I did my MPH internship course (275 hours) with the 1795 Group and with Dr. Jordan, and his team. I was assigned to Dr. Zena Hamdan to work on a $750k HRSA Grant in Michigan. I have done a lot of internships during my academic career. I can confidently say that this was the most beneficial experience for my future in public health. It helped me develop leadership skills, organizational skills, teaching skills, and so much more. My favorite part of the internship was having the opportunity to mentor undergraduate students.

I’m a student intern from the University of Texas in San Antonio. Working with the 1795 Group was absolutely awesome! This internship was perfect. It provided me with experience and new skills.
